In light of a modern paradigm built upon separation and hyper-vigilance, Pat McCabe, or Woman Stands Shining, calls us to step beyond current belief systems towards the “radical abundance and fearless generosity” of our Mother Earth. She shares about remembering our personal, family and cultural histories, and rediscovering a “felt sense of how beloved we are”, as tools for entering more genuinely and deeply into relationship with all of creation. Pat speaks to the “precious, powerful contributions that we would be able to make to this life and this mother earth” were we to unite our will, our hearts, and our minds towards what we have to offer as human relatives of creation. “My grandmothers say that ‘there is much in the cosmos, there is much in the universe that depends upon this human heart.’ And ‘even this mother earth’, we say, ‘is the heart of this whole creation…Everything is interconnected, everything that any one of us does affects another being, every other being.”
